WWE Elimination Chamber 2023: Preview & Predictions
The final stop before Wrestlemania is upon us and there is still much to be decided in terms of the card. Elimination Chamber will provide us with answers and perhaps even more questions, so let’s delve into what’s to come in Montreal.
ROMAN REIGNS © vs. SAMI ZAYN (WWE Title / WWE Universal Title)
A match that has been beautifully crafted for quite some time and is destined to result in an atmosphere that would match that of CM Punk vs. John Cena at Money in the Bank in 2011. Zayn has been excellent in the build up, his promos are filled to the brim with emotion. His segment with Cody Rhodes on RAW particularly gave light to the psyche of Zayn, he mentioned how he doesn't necessarily know if he can beat the Head of the Table. His popularity is off the charts and it's a shame he likely won't get the victory here. This bout will surely have numerous near falls that keep the Montreal crowd on the edge of their seats, but ultimately I believe Jey Uso will tarnish the trust that's been built between himself and Zayn by costing him in some way. This will then lead to The Usos vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn at Wrestlemania.
PREDICTION: ROMAN REIGNS
NATALYA vs. ASUKA vs. NIKKI CROSS vs. CARMELLA vs. LIV MORGAN vs. RAQUEL RODRIGUEZ (WWE RAW Women's Title #1 Contendership Elimination Chamber Match)
In what is possibly the most predictable match of the night, Asuka will most definitely dominate the competition and earn herself a bout with Bianca Belair for the RAW Women's Championship. There's a small chance that Liv Morgan wins considering she's pushed relatively well nowadays, or maybe even Raquel Rodriguez since Triple H is known to be a big fan of her work. But with all that being said, Asuka is on fire currently and it'd be disappointing to not see her in a major spot come Wrestlemania.
PREDICTION: ASUKA
BROCK LESNAR vs. BOBBY LASHLEY
Following Bray Wyatts unforeseen challenge to the winner of this match, it's made this a very interesting spectacle. Presumably this is being done to build to a Brock vs Bray feud which doesn't feel like has a lot of substance but we'll have to see how it plays out. As for Brock vs Bobby itself, hopefully this gets roughly ten to fifteen minutes with the pair just annihilating one another.
PREDICTION: BROCK LESNAR
AUSTIN THEORY © vs. SETH ROLLINS vs. JOHNNY GARGANO vs. BRONSON REED vs. DAMIAN PRIEST vs. MONTEZ FORD (WWE United States Title Elimination Chamber Match)
In comparison to the Womens Elimination Chamber match this is quite difficult to predict. Theory has become a much more convincing character that's transcended massively during his reign. You can immediately rule out some contenders in this one, such as Seth Rollins who will seemingly be entering a programme with Logan Paul. Bronson Reed just doesn't feel like he's settled into the main roster quite yet, and Damian Priest & Montez Ford feel like they were just added to fill up spots, although the latter would make for a great champion someday. Johnny Gargano is the dark horse here though. He has little to no momentum but we know that he's adored by important figures backstage. It's not unrealistic to imagine him lasting a prolonged period of time in the Chamber and eventually winning the belt. I do believe Theory will retain here, but keep an eye out for Gargano.
PREDICTION: AUSTIN THEORY
EDGE & BETH PHOENIX vs. THE JUDGEMENT DAY (FINN BALOR & RHEA RIPLEY)
Somehow this feud is still ongoing, and it's especially weird considering Rhea particularly has much bigger things on her horizon. Regardless, this will likely end with Rhea pinning Beth and having a stare-down with Charlotte Flair afterwards.
PREDICTION: THE JUDGEMENT DAY
